Farhana Farooq Reshi Srinagar Girls wins gold medal at national Pencak Silat Championship A teenage girl from the Srinagar district has shined in the national Pencak Silat Championship held in Bihar after bagging the gold medal. Farhana Farooq Reshi (15) daughter of Farooq Ahmad Reshi resident of Brain Nishat at the 11th National Pencak Silat Championship held at Patli Putra Stadium Patna Bihar Farhana Farooq while talking to a news agency, said that she is very happy about winning a gold medal at the national level.
She claimed that she was interested in martial arts and wanted to represent India at the International level. “I am very much interested in martial arts and have been learning different art forms for the last two years. I started learning pencak silat for the last six months. I have been learning different art forms at the local indoor stadium where the trainer is training several girls and I have been working hard to go to the international level and win the gold medal.
Her mother told KS that her daughter has been getting training at the Indoor sports stadium in Srinagar for the last two years. She said Farhana is very interested in learning different art forms and has been practicing for the last two years and her goal is to reach the international level and bring laurels to Kashmir. She requested that in this era every parent must support their children in the sports field as if the child is talented, he/she can make a future in the sports field. (KS)
